• Densities, speeds of sound and viscosities of AcGly + water + AMOX mixtures.
• Partial molar volumes and compressibility of transfer.
• Viscosity B-coefficient suggests solute–solvent interactions.
• Ion–hydrophilic and hydrophilic–hydrophilic interactions.
• N-acetylglycine acts as structure maker in aqueous amoxicillin solution.
Densities, ρ, speed of sound, u and viscosities, η for N-acetylglycine in (0.0005, 0.001, and 0.002) mol kg−1 aqueous solutions of amoxicillin at T = (305.15, 310.15 and 315.15) K have been measured. The different parameters such as apparent molar properties, partial molar properties, transfer volume and partial molar expansibility have been derived from density and speeds of sound data. The interactions increase with increase in the concentration of AcGly in aqueous AMOX solution. The pair and triplet interaction coefficient have been calculated from transfer parameters. The viscosity B-coefficient and activation parameters of viscosity have also been obtained from Jones–Dole equation and transition state theory.
