The steel plate shear wall (SPSW) system can provide high lateral force resistance and energy dissipation capacity against seismic loads. Due to the complexity of panel action and wall-frame interaction, developing a high-efficiency analysis method is crucial for the seismic analysis and evaluation of structural systems. This paper explores the feasibility of using endurance time (ET) method to predict the seismic response of high-rise SPSW systems with square concrete-filled tubular columns (SPSW-CFT) with a reduced computational effort. To this end, two high-rise structures with 10 and 20 stories were designed and selected as the prototype structures. The nonlinear time history analysis results under 18 real ground motion records were employed as the basis for comparison. Based on the observations of validation, the global seismic demands and non-cumulative response distribution were compared. The scaling method of ET accelerograms to be consistent with the accumulation-related seismic demands was developed based on the compatibility of strong-motion duration. The investigation results indicate ET method is able to efficiently predict the response parameters with a remarkable reduction of computation cost.
