Promising results with YXY Diesel components in an ESC test cycle using a PACCAR Diesel engine

► Engine performance of Diesel-YXY fuel mixtures in a Paccar heavy duty engine. ► YXY fuel components are furan-based mono- and diethers. ► No difference in the engine operation was observed at all conditions tested. ► Ethoxymethyl Tetrahydrofuran Ether (ETE) gave the best results. ► Substantial reductions in particulate matter and smoke.
