Asymptotic numerical method for continuation power flow

► Asymptotic numerical method (ANM) is introduced into power systems. ► Computation time of ANM is less than that of the general predictor-corrector continuation methods. ► ANM does not require any special step length control strategy. ► ANM can compute the breaking points on P-V curves in an efficient way. ► Numerical tests in power systems show good performances in above aspects.
