A complex communication network for distribution automation using a fiber optic network and WLANs

► This paper has introduced the Korean DAS and proposed a DAS communication network using WLANs and a fiber optic network. ► The proposed network has some time delay but can save on communication fees and construction costs of fiber optic cables. ► The DWB for the proposed network was implemented to have compatibility with the existing DAS equipment. ► The feasibility of the proposed DAS communication network was shown through experiments.
