Passive state estimator design for Markovian complex networks with polytopic sensor failures

In this paper, the problem of state estimation for Markovian complex networks with polytopic sensor failures is investigated. The possible sensor failure rate of each node is considered to lie in a given interval, and a diagonal matrix ranging in the corresponding matrix polytope is used to characterize the sensor failures of all nodes. Moreover, the transition probabilities are assumed to be partially unknown. This assumption is more general and reflects the practical situations. Based on the Kronecker product, the estimation error system is obtained. By constructing a mode- and failure-dependent Lyapunov function, the polytopic sensor failures are well handled and a sufficient condition is developed to ensure that the estimation error system is stochastically passive. Then, the reliable state estimators are designed by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, simulation results are provided to show the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed estimator design method.
