Boosting the predictive accuracy of urban hedonic house price models through airborne laser scanning

► Large-scale hedonic house price modeling is challenging in complex urban environments. ► 3D analysis based on airborne laser scanning is utilized to extract exploratory variables. ► The externality incoming solar radiation is derived separately for flats in Vienna, Austria. ► The impact of solar radiation on flat prices is tested in a generalized additive hedonic model. ► Model comparisons confirm an increased explanatory power and a decreased prediction error.
