A robust method of thin plate spline and its application to DEM construction

► A modified orthogonal least squares method (MOLS) was developed. ► The MOLS of thin plate spline (TPS-M) has been presented. ► TPS-M is more accurate than IDW. ► TPS-M is more accurate than smoothing TPS on coarser sample data.
