In this paper, the fault-tolerant control (FTC) problem of nonlinearly chaotic systems via adaptive slide-mode control is investigated. Both the Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack and network faults are considered in the system. Perturbations caused by general nonlinear couplings, the signal attenuation, and network deterioration are regarded as network faults in this paper. A slide-mode control strategy is studied to guarantee the compensation of the faulted and perturbed couplings by means of adaptive estimations of unknown controller parameters. Then, based on the Lyapunov stability theory and mathematical analysis method, the adaptive slide-mode strategy is successful in achieving the asymptotic synchronization of nonlinearly chaotic systems. Finally, the simulations are performed to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the design method.
