What factors influence drivers' response time for evasive maneuvers in real traffic?

► We used the public 100-car and 8-truck naturalistic data and the NatWare software. ► Response time was computed for 493 near-crashes events. ► Eyes-off-road and distraction delayed response times by 29% and 16%. ► Response times also depended on the incident and evasive maneuver type. ► Truck drivers responded faster that than car drivers.
