► This study investigates the effects of bus driver burnout on aberrant behaviors and health problems. ► The moderating effects of reappraisal coping, confrontive coping and self-criticism on the hassle-burnout relationship are examined. ► Confrontive and reappraisal coping negatively moderate the hassle-burnout relationship, while self-criticism positively moderates the relationship.
