Impairment of simulated motorcycle riding performance under low dose alcohol

► We examined the effect of low dose alcohol on simulated motorcycle riding. ► Motorcycle riding simulator performance is impaired at 0.05% BAC. ► Response time to an unexpected pedestrian is impaired at 0.02% BAC. ► Some evidence that legal BAC limit for motorcyclists should be below 0.05%. ► Some evidence for a greater vulnerability of novice compared to experienced riders to low-dose BAC.
