SAXS characterization of genetically engineered tobacco mosaic virus nanorods coated with palladium in the absence of external reducing agents

► We form biotemplated palladium nanowires using an aqueous process. ► We vary the number of Pd coating cycles and Pd concentration. ► The increase in diameter with increasing coating cycles is characterized with SAXS. ► The SAXS results are verified with TEM images. ► Increasing aqueous palladium concentration will increase the final diameter.
