Controlling the size and morphology of anisotropic nanostructures of nickel borate using microemulsions and their magnetic properties

► The reverse micellar route has been used to control the shape and size of nickel borate nanoparticles. ► Uniform nanorods and nano-spindles of nickel borate have been synthesized for the first time. ► A magnetization enhancement of four fold was found in the surfactant mediated process.
