The influence of brightness during laser surface treatment of Si3N4 engineering ceramics

► This paper is a first-step study of the influence of laser-beam brightness on a Si3N4 ceramic. ► Laser-beam brightness is an idle feature and is not considered during laser processing of materials. ► The physical and microstructural changes by the laser-beam brightness are addressed herein.
