Antistatic and dielectric properties of one-dimensional Al2+:Nd2O3 nanowire doped polyaniline nanocomposites for electronic application

Polyaniline (PANI) - Al2+:Nd2O3 nanocomposites have been prepared by in situ polymerization of aniline in the presence of Al2+:Nd2O3. The prepared nanocomposites were characterized by Fourier Transmission Infra-Red spectroscopy (FTIR) and it is found that the important peaks were appeared at 490 cm−1 due to the benzenoid ring stretching vibration, 1562 cm−1 for quinoid ring vibration and 743 cm−1 corresponds to the Al - O - Nd bending vibration out of the plan due to the Al2+ doping at large vacancy B - sites of the Nd2O3. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) shows the one dimensional growth of Al2+:Nd2O3 nanowire which is used for the preparation of nanocomposites. The antistatic properties was studied by indigenous John Chubb experimental set up and it is found that the 15 wt % of nanocomposites have static decay time less than 2 s with the voltage variation from 45 mV to 33 mV. The DC conductivity results shows that, the 15 wt % nanocomposite exhibits conductivity of 0.456 S/cm due to hopping of charge carriers and elongation of polymer chain length supported by NTC plot. The AC conductivity results show that the permittivity and impedance values are lowest for 15 wt % of nanocomposite as a result higher conductivity value of 1.53 S/cm.
