On some mixed variational principles in electro-elastostatics

► We present some mixed variational principles for the coupled electro-elastic problem. ► Within the variational formulations, the electric field follows from a scalar potential. ► The observed domain is step-by-step expanded from basic free space to a body immersed in vacuum. ► Finally a non-linear deformable body that is surrounded by free space is studied. The body may undergo large deformations and we assume a non-linear material behavior for the body.
