MODELLING OF THE OF ELECTROCHEMICAL MACHINING PROCESS

The electrochemical machining uses the electrochemical dissolution process to remove the material from workpiece. Although the electrochemical machining method was discovered long time ago, there are less known detail aspects and the process control can be improved. Because the electrochemical dissolution process develops in closed spaces, usually it can not be directly observed. To diminish this disadvantage, a specialized electrolytic cell was built, so that the evolution of the machined surface can be observed or registered by means of the video camera and modelled. By comparing the experimental results with those obtained by the using of the theoretical model, some differences were emphasized; we tried to find some explanations for these differences.
