HAPTIC DEVICES AS NEW MECHATRONIC COMPONENTS FOR INTERACTIVE GRID APPLICATIONS

New mechanical haptic input devices for surgical training and a modular electrical control interface have been developed. The interface has a modular design and is accessed via USB or internet, respectively. Special virtual reality simulation models were designed for the evaluation of the new hardware. Clinical evaluation studies have been carried out. We present a new approach towards interactive applications for the grid network.
