Social norms of sharing in high school: Teen giving in the dictator game

► We find substantial conformity to the 50/50 norm among high school students. ► Conformity is not related to demographics, or other characteristics traditionally considered in the dictator game. ► Individuals who are highly independent are less likely to conform to the norm, whereas individuals who are more socially generous are more likely to conform to the norm.
