• A comparative study of SPH and FVM is done to show SPH algorithm properties.
• A progressive procedure is proposed for charge determining in whole solution space.
• The algorithm relies on particle distribution near the electrode.
• SPH algorithm remarkably increases the speed of convergence.
• Attributed dispersion error of charge density equation solution will not be appear.

In this paper a new method is proposed for solving the electrodynamics' equations based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamic. This method is a combination of the corrected smoothed particle method and method of characteristics with a Lagrangian based system. CSPM and MOC are used to determine the electric field and charge density distributions, respectively. The accuracy of the present meshless technique is verified by comparing the results with those achieved via analytical and finite volume methods for the electric field and charge density.
