Transient beneficial effects of excitatory theta burst stimulation in a patient with phonological agraphia after left supramarginal gyrus infarction

► We report a patient showing isolated phonological agraphia after a stroke involving the left SMG. ► The left SMG represents an important anatomical substrate for phonological agraphia. ► TBS is able to influence many language functions, including phonological processes. ► TBS over the left SMG lead to a facilitation of phonological non-words writing to dictation. ► TMS may contribute to a better understanding the neurolinguistic mechanisms for writing.
