Design of an optical measurement system for dynamic testing of electrospindles

► A system to perform dynamic characterization of electrospindles is proposed. ► Multibody system (MBS) simulations of the rotor were performed. ► MBS model was used to optimize the system setup. ► The testing procedures were defined. ► We performed accurate measurements of shaft vibrations.
