Cobalt–palladium bimetal nanoparticles were prepared and dispersed on carbon black. A highly sensitive sensor based on cobalt–palladium/carbon (CoPd/C) modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was constructed to determine ascorbic acid (AA). Due to the synergistic effects of cobalt–palladium bimetal nanoparticles, the electrocatalytic activity of modified GCE shows a significant enhance towards the oxidation of AA compared with the commercial palladium carbon (Pd/C) and bare GCE. The CoPd/C modified GEC also shows a wide linear relationship of concentration range from 0.1 μM to 3.42 mM, a very low applied potential (−50 mV), a good resistance towards common interferents and a high sensitivity. Those results demonstrate that CoPd/C modified GCE can be a promising sensor for AA routine detection.
