Novel styryldehydropyridocolinium derivative as turn-on fluorescent probe for DNA detection

Novel styryldehydropyridocolinium derivative L was prepared and found to have low fluorescence quantum yield in water; however, upon addition of DNA, the fluorescence intensity increased by a factor of 60-fold. Meanwhile, it also showed rapid cellular uptake properties in cell imaging due to its cationic structure favored for cell membrane permeability.

A novel cationic styryl dye with innate nature of low quantum yield and large stokes shift in water was prepared. It showed a large fluorescence enhancement upon binding to DNA and rapid cellular uptake properties in cell imaging.Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slide
