Du « cardinal » au relatif : les avatars du principe de dignité dans la « jurisprudence » éthique du Comité Consultatif National d'Éthique

The principle of respect for human dignity is a fundamental right which is recent, prominent, and deeply multidisciplinary. As it is present in the different sources of law, it is, however, constantly evolving. As an “objective rule of law”, dignity must be reconciled with some other fundamental rights, in particular freedom. However, it's still evolving towards a “subjective rule of law”. The French National Consultative Committee for Ethics (CCNE) played a major role in shaping this concept through its statements.
