چکیده انگلیسی
Since 1936, the term “accepted data of science” has defined a subset of all the “data of science”, which doctors are required to observe. Since 2002, the term “proven medical knowledge” refers to a subset of the whole of the “medical knowledge” binding the physician in his practice. The semantics of the terms “data of science” and “medical knowledge” shows that the phrase “data of science” should be replaced by “medical knowledge” only. The semantics of the adjectives “accepted” and “proven” used to describe the referential subsets, objectively express an evident difference of meaning in the rules that doctors must observe. A safer and more effective drafting of the Code of Public Health and of the Code of Medical Ethics should allow the physician facing a patient, and in agreement with him, to perform his role in accordance with his “medical knowledge, proven or accepted”.
