Microstructural evaluation and fracture mechanisms of failed IN-738LC gas turbine blades

• Blades failure occurred because of excessive temperature exposure.
• Oxide grooves on fracture surface of blades are due to very high temperature exposure.
• Creep properties of alloy deteriorated by γ′ particles dissolution.
