Proposition of a simple method for chromium (VI) determination in soils from remote places applying digital images: A case study from Brazilian Antarctic Station

► We proposed a method for Cr VI determination in Antarctic soils. ► Color image parameters obtained with a scanner were used to propose calibration models. ► The obtained results were compared with UV-vis and a good agreement was observed. ► For the first time, the Cr VI identification was described in Antarctic soils.
