An attractive, sensitive and high-throughput strategy based on microextraction by packed sorbent followed by UHPLC-PDA analysis for quantification of hydroxybenzoic and hydroxycinnamic acids in wines

► An innovative technique based on MEPS to preconcentrate phenolic acids in wines. ► Improved and high-throughput UHPLC using a new HSS column designed for polar compounds. ► MEPS reduced the sample volume and the time necessary for the analysis. ► Good results were obtained in terms of LOD, LOQ, precision, sensitivity and accuracy. ► Could potentially be extended to other extraction mediums and other metabolites.
