Indirect cloud point extraction and spectrophotometric determination of nitrite in water and meat products

► A new indirect micelle mediated cloud point extraction method for nitrite. ► The method uses the well known oxidation-reduction reaction of nitrite by iodide to form I3−. ► The method was applied to determine nitrite in water samples and meat product. ► The procedure is eco-friendly.
