Evaluation of infrared spectroscopy as a screening tool for serum analysis

► We evaluate PLS-ATR-FTIR capability for sera parameter analysis. ► This study is the first systematic approach which has considered a high number of samples with different origins. ► Predictive capability of PLS models has been evaluated by PCA and 50-50 MANOVA studies. ► Extended calibration sets are able to improve results of glucose, urea, total protein and albumin.
