Photochemical behavior of alloxydim herbicide in environmental waters. Structural elucidation and toxicity of degradation products

► Alloxydim degradation in natural waters under natural and simulated solar radiation was investigated. ► The major degradation product, imine tautomers, was characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, COSY, HMQC and HMBC techniques. ► Toxicity of alloxydim photoproducts was higher than the toxicity of the parent compound.
