Analysis of mercury and selenium during subcritical water treatment of fish tissue by various atomic spectrometric methods

► Subcritical water treatment of fish tissue was performed. ► Dissolution of Hg and Se from fish tissue into the aqueous phase was monitored. ► Speciation of Hg and Se dissolved was favorably carried out by the combination of HPLC and atomic spectrometric method. ► Majority of Hg dissolved was methylated species.
