A new version of a portable polonium source for the non-destructive PIXE (particle induced X-ray emission) analysis in the cultural heritage field

► We realised a new polonium source for non-destructive PIXE analysis in the cultural Heritage field. ► The L-PIXE (Large-PIXE) source is portable and present compact geometry a large efficiency. ► We coupled the L-PIXE source with a large area SDD detector. ► The new system can be used for the minor and trace element analysis.
