Nature of surface oxygen intermediates on TiO2 during photocatalytic splitting of water

The surface oxygenated intermediates present on TiO2 during photocatalytic water splitting have been identified and their accumulation on the titania surface is responsible for the deactivation of H2 evolution rate during photocatalysis.
