Luminescent multiruthenium metallocyclodextrins: Synthesis, fluorescence and electrochemiluminescence properties based on host-guest recognition

Multiruthenium metallocyclodextrins Ru-CD, 2Ru-CD and 3Ru-CD were successfully synthesized. 3Ru-CD exhibited an excellent fluorescence and electrochemiluminescence (ECL) characteristic among the three complexes. Our research demonstrated that 3Ru-CD will be a new ECL luminophore, and it will have a great potential in the field of photo-electronic devices and ECL.
