Synthesis, DNA binding and antiproliferative activity of ternary copper complexes of moxifloxacin and gatifloxacin against lung cancer cells

► Cu(II) complexes of Moxifloxacin and Gatifloxacin were synthesized and characterized. ► The Cu(II) complexes bind with DNA via intercalative mode. ► Antiproliferative activity of the complexes on A549 cells was investigated. ► The complexes induced cell death by apoptosis.
