Tuning the structural and lanthanide luminescence properties of macrocyclic tetraiminodiphenolate europium(III) complexes

The synthesis, structural characterization, and luminescence of two macrocyclic tetraiminodiphenolate europium(III) complexes are reported. The effects of structural variation within the macrocyclic cavity on metal binding and luminescence are explored, as well as the potential of one of the complexes as an anion sensor in aqueous solution.123
