Synthesis and characterization of nickel(II) selenothiocarbamato complex

Treatment of the in situ generated Me2NCSSeNa with (PPh3)2NiBr2 in degassed MeCN or THF gave a violet complex (PPh3)Ni(Br)(κ2S,Se-SSeCNMe2) (1). Attempts to crystalize the salt Me2NCSSeNa produced the dimeric compound (Me2NCSSe)2 (2). Complex 1 was characterized by 1H, 13C{1H}, 31P{1H} and 77Se NMR spectroscopy as well as mass spectrometry, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallography.39
