Silver coordination complexes of 2-(diphenylphosphinomethyl)aminopyridine with weakly interacting counterions

Silver complexes are synthesized with 2-(diphenylphosphinomethyl)aminopyridine, DPAP-2 and 5,5′-dimethyl-2,2′-dipyridyl (5,5′-dmbpy). The reaction of AgX (X = BF4, tfa) with DPAP-2 results in the formation of [Ag(DPAP-2)2][X] and [Ag(DPAP-2)]2[BF4]2, while mixed ligand reactions result in 1:1:1 products and the 2:1:2 products [Ag2(DPAP-2)(5,5′-dmbpy)2][BF4]2 and [Ag2(DPAP-2)(5,5′-dmbpy)2][tfa]2.102
