Construction of diverse dimensionality in eight coordination polymers of bivalent metal ions using 5-nitroisophthalate and different linear N,N′-donor linkers

Eight divalent metal coordination polymers based on 5-nitroisophthalate and different linear N,N′-donor linkers have been synthesized and characterized. The compounds shows diverse dimensionality, viz. three are isostructural 1D chains, and another three are an isostructural set showing a 3D 2-fold interpenetrated 66-dia net topology. The remaining two compounds consist of two different 2D sheet structures. The thermal stabilities and UV-Vis spectra of all the complexes and the luminescent properties of the Zn(II) complex have also been studied.100
