Structural diversity and luminescent properties of cyanoacetato zinc/cadmium coordination polymers with N,N′-ditopic auxiliary ligands

Four new Zn(II)/Cd(II) coordination polymers, formulated as [Zn(cna)2(bpy)(H2O)2]n (1), [Cd3(cna)6(bpy)3]n (2), [Zn(cna)2(bpa)]n (3) and [Cd(cna)2(bpa)]n (4) (cna = cyanoacetate, bpy = 4,4′-bipyridyl and bpa = 1,2-di(4-pyridyl)ethane) have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The photoluminescent properties in the solid state of 3 and 4 have been studied.70
