A new redox-based approach for synthesizing a mixed-valence hybrid polymolybdate uncommonly bicapped by Cr(III) coordination complexes

A first mixed-valence polyoxometalate with Cr(III) coordination complexes as the cap units was prepared under hydrothermal conditions by two-step redox reactions: (1) the reduction of K2Cr2O7 into Cr3+ ions by DMF decomposition species (i.e., dma and CO), and (2) partial Na2MoO4 into Mo5+ ions by H3PO3.
