Synthesis and characterization of TiL2 complexes with tridentate (ONO) (S)-NOBIN Schiff-base ligands

C2-symmetric titanium(IV) Schiff base complexes, TiL2, are synthesized from (S)-NOBIN Schiff-base ligands with extended aromatic units containing phenoxo donors. The ONO donor set produces a facial or meridonal structure, depending on the length of the unit. Preliminary catalytic activity for carbonyl-ene additions is reported.44
