Bibenzimidazole containing mixed ligand cobalt(III) complex as a selective receptor for iodide

A highly selective sensor for I− has been developed using cobalt(III) complex containing bibenzimidazole ligand. Colorimetric sensing was due to charge transfer complex formed between cobalt(III) metallo-receptor and I− anion.
