Within-plant distribution of volatile compounds on the leaf surface of Flourensia cernua

► We examined within-plant distribution of volatile chemicals on tarbush leaf surface. ► Ninety-four volatiles were detected on the leaf surface. ► Fifty-two chemicals were affected by leaf position. ► Sixty-three compounds were affected by leaf age. ► Sampling variability was minimized by avoiding basal sprouts and immature leaves.
