Genetic diversity of natural Miscanthus sinensis populations in China revealed by ISSR markers

► Relatively low levels of genetic diversity were determined among the populations. ► Nei's gene diversity equaled 0.30 and GST equaled 0.52. ► The majority of the genetic variation was within the populations. ► A high genetic diversity was found at the population level.
