Low genetic diversity in marginal populations of Bletilla striata (Orchidaceae) in southern Korea: Insights into population history and implications for conservation

► Genetic variation within Korean populations of the orchid Bletilla striata was low. ► Moderate degree of genetic differentiation was found in B. striata. ► These results suggest that extant Korean populations originated from a single source. ► Both in situ and ex situ conservation strategies are needed.
