Development and transferability of EST-SSR and transferability of genomic SSR markers for genetic diversity assessment of Doritis

► 195 EST-SSR markers were identified from orchid expressed sequence tag database. ► 35 genomic SSR from Dendrobium and Serapias have 20% transferability in Doritis. ► 23 EST-SSR and 7 genomic SSR markers were used to assess genetic diversity. ► The phylogenetic tree showed three major clades, corresponding to Doritis taxonomy. ► These SSR markers can be used for parents' selection in Doritis hybrid production.
